HYCU and Dell DDVE: Low-Cost, High-Resilience Azure Backup

Agentless Azure backup with Dell DDVE deduplication built in. Lower storage costs, immutable retention, and one console for your entire Microsoft estate.

Native Azure snapshots and replication are not complete data protection. They do not fully protect against deletion, corruption, or misconfiguration. A single IAM or policy mistake can affect multiple subscriptions and regions at once.

Backup costs are also climbing. As data grows, so do backup copies, egress charges, and inter-region transfer fees. Without efficient deduplication, bills increase month over month and become hard to predict or explain to finance.

How It Works

HYCU connects to your Azure tenants through native APIs and Entra permissions. It auto-discovers VMs, disks, SQL databases, Files, and Blob storage, then applies policies through tags, resource groups, and templates.

When a backup runs, HYCU orchestrates Azure-native snapshots and streams deduplicated data to your Dell DDVE instance, deployed in your Azure subscription or another cloud. DDVE applies global deduplication, compression, and optional Retention Lock immutability, with replication available to another region or cloud.

Key Capabilities

  • Agentless, SaaS-based protection across Azure subscriptions and regions
  • Global deduplication and compression with Dell DDVE, up to 40:1 depending on workload
  • Unified coverage for Azure VMs, SQL, Files, Blob, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Entra ID from one console
  • Automated, policy-driven recovery testing and orchestrated restores
  • Customer-owned, immutable DDVE storage with Retention Lock and customer-managed keys

Why It Matters

You get lower backup storage and egress costs through deduplication instead of paying for every byte you protect. You get one console instead of scripts and separate tools. You get immutable, customer-owned backups instead of vendor-controlled retention, which helps meet compliance and audit requirements in regulated industries.
