What’s New in HYCU R-Cloud: One global view, stronger threat hunting, and new workload support
Your team are juggling more change than ever. You may be moving hypervisors, modernizing applications in the cloud, and adding SaaS across every department. The result is a heavier lift for your staff and a sprawling set of protection tools. This is common with all our customer conversations, and we made sure to listen. In this new update, we bring you more coverage and visibility to shrink your data protection stack and move faster.
HYCU’s goal is simple: consistent data protection across your environment. R-Cloud™ supports more than 90 workloads. This release adds capabilities that reduce tools, raise confidence, and simplify operations.
At a glance:
- One global view to protect and manage every workload.
- Enhanced malware detection with R-Shield Scanner.
- Native support for Microsoft Hyper-V.
- New integrations for Dell PowerProtect DD MFR, Microsoft Planner, and GitHub offline recovery.
One global data protection view for everything
“Single pane of glass” has become a cliché for a reason. Reports alone are not enough when you run virtual infrastructure, public cloud services, AI and analytics platforms, and dozens of SaaS apps.
R-Cloud now gives you one operational view to protect and manage it all. From a single dashboard you can set policy, monitor status, and recover across:
- Virtual workloads: Nutanix AHV, VMware, and Microsoft Hyper-V
- Cloud services: IaaS, DBaaS, and PaaS across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Data platforms used for AI and analytics: data warehouses and vector databases
- SaaS applications across business functions
Enhanced malware detection with R-Shield Scanner
Backups are a prime target during an attack. HYCU already scans at the source and flags anomalies. The latest release adds two upgrades:
- Complete threat visibility. Confirm backups are successful, validated, in policy, within RTOs, and free of compromise. Built-in malware scanning and anomaly detection roll up in one view for teams, with audit-ready confidence for leaders.
- Expanded Unified Policy Engine. R-Shield is now part of HYCU’s Unified Policy Engine. From one policy you set RPOs, RTOs, validation, replication, archival, instant restore, and anomaly detection. Cyber resilience becomes the default, so no workload is left unreviewed.
NEW Support for Microsoft Hyper-V
Many organizations are evaluating hypervisor options. For Windows-centric environments, Hyper-V offers simplicity and savings. The challenge comes after migration when legacy, VMware-first tools add agents and complexity.
HYCU now supports Microsoft Hyper-V through the HYCU Marketplace. Protect and recover Hyper-V workloads without agents, and manage Microsoft services in the same view:
- Hyper-V on-premises
- Azure Local
- Azure cloud services (IaaS and DBaaS)
- Microsoft 365
- GitHub
Additional Updates:
- Early Access Support for Citrix XenServer: Automate all backup operations for XenServer without agents or complexity.
- Simplified multi-site management: Dell customers with multisite and multi-copy backups can streamline management with HYCU’s support for Dell PowerProtect Data Domain Managed File Replication (MFR). This delivers a single control plane for backup, recovery, and replication workflows for faster, lower-cost data movement across both on-prem and cloud-based Data Domain solutions.
- Microsoft Planner: Protect plans, tasks, integrations, and settings. Recover granular items, run global search and export for audits, store backups in your S3-compatible cloud, and enable immutability with object lock/WORM.
- GitHub offline recovery: Create on-demand, human-readable exports of repositories for compliance and resilience when an offline option is required.
