Learn how the latest HYCU R-Cloud updates strengthen Atlassian Cloud protection with Jira DR, GitHub backup, legal hold, workflow recovery, and cross-instance restore.

Atlassian is where a lot of business-critical work lives. For many of the organizations we work with, it indeed is the System of Work where engineering, IT, and business teams plan, track, and deliver. Keeping that system protected and recoverable has been a major focus for us, and over the past few months we have rolled out a number of meaningful updates to HYCU R-Cloud for Atlassian. Here are the major ones.

Cross-site Jira DR

You can now restore an entire Jira site, or a selected set of projects, into a separate Jira Cloud instance in a single operation. All object references and cross-project links are accurately rebound as part of the restore, so what you get in the destination is a working Jira, not just raw data. This is particularly useful for disaster recovery, tenant migration, and environment cloning.

Global Configuration Cross-Source Recovery for Jira Cloud

You can now back up and restore just the Jira Cloud global configuration layer: workflows, issue types, custom fields, schemes, roles, and permissions, into a separate Jira Cloud instance. This is useful when you need to recover from a misconfiguration without touching project data, test configuration changes safely in a sandbox before applying them to production, or migrate a known-good configuration state between instances.

Coverage for Jira Workflows and Dashboards

HYCU R-Cloud for Atlassian now covers Jira workflows and dashboards as part of backup and restore. Custom workflows can be restored without manual reconfiguration. Dashboards, which often carry the metrics and reporting views your teams check daily, can be recovered directly if they are deleted or corrupted.

Support for Jira Boards and Filters

Saved filters in Jira are easy to overlook until one goes missing. They drive boards, dashboards, and queues, and losing one can quietly break reporting and team workflows across multiple surfaces. Boards and filters are now included in Jira backup and restore coverage, so if either is lost or corrupted, you can restore them directly.

Cross-Instance Recovery for Jira Assets

You can now move Jira Assets data between sites, environments, or Atlassian organizations. This covers scenarios like promoting changes from sandbox to production, restructuring instances, and managing multi-org setups. You can choose between a configuration-only restore for quick schema updates, or a full restore that includes all objects, attributes, and relationships.

Legal Hold for SaaS Applications

Atlassian data is not exempt from legal and regulatory obligations. A Jira project that becomes relevant to litigation, a Jira Service Management queue tied to an active HR investigation, a Confluence space that falls under an audit scope: in any of these cases, you need to be able to preserve specific backup data beyond your standard retention policy, and keep it preserved until the matter is resolved.

Legal hold in HYCU R-Cloud lets you do exactly that. You can apply a hold to specific backup entities, protection sets, or subscriptions across any supported workload, including your Atlassian data. Once a hold is applied, expiration is paused and the data is preserved until an authorized administrator explicitly removes the hold. Your regular backup policies continue to run as normal for everything outside the hold.

GitHub: Protecting the Other Half of the Engineering Workflow

Most engineering teams run Jira and GitHub side by side. Jira is where work gets planned and tracked. GitHub is where it gets built and shipped. Protecting one without the other leaves the workflow incomplete. We have been investing in GitHub coverage alongside our Atlassian updates, and here is what is new.

  • GitHub Actions and workflows are now protected. HYCU R-Cloud now covers the GitHub Actions layer that most backup tools miss: workflows, actions, variables, and environments. If someone deletes a workflow, changes a variable, or corrupts an environment config, you can restore it directly.
  • GitHub Wikis are now included in backup and restore coverage, so critical documentation and knowledge repositories stay recoverable.
  • For teams running GitHub Enterprise Cloud, HYCU now supports the full EU data residency offering, so your GitHub backups stay within EU boundaries.
  • GitHub backups are now significantly faster. Enhanced change-data-capture means shorter backup windows and lower resource utilization for your GitHub backups.
