One of my personal favorite things as part of my job is to speak to our customers and get their feedback on how we’re doing. It never gets old and it’s what keeps us focused on delivering value for our customers in their multi-cloud journey.

And, it’s been great to hear how HYCU is doing since we launched HYCU for Azure earlier this year.

Our Azure Cloud support all started with HYCU’s enterprise cloud’s agentless backups to cost-efficient Azure Blob with automated backup tiering.

HYCU Data Protection as a Service for Azure has really helped our customers to accelerate their adoption to Azure. As you’re probably aware, HYCU can help migrate production workloads to Azure Cloud in an application consistent manner, leveraging Azure as a DR target for on-prem workloads and protect all Application and Virtual Machine workloads running on Azure. Since introducing HYCU for Azure, we are excited to announce our latest significant updates to HYCU for Azure are now available for our customers.

Here are a few of the highlights:

Custom Homegrown, Application Consistency

Right from the start, HYCU for Azure has provided customers the ability to provide Application Consistency for backups when using standard enterprise apps. Users can now achieve application consistent snapshots of any and all applications through HYCU’s new pre-post application framework. This assures Azure VM-based snapshots will automatically quiesce filesystems or applications and prevent unnecessary consistency checks during the post-recovery process.

Auto-assignment of Appropriate Data Protection Policy to the Right Application

Administrators now have relief from having to worry about the manual assignment of backup policies to VMs and Apps. Admins can define the protection policies to be compliant with SLAs once and forever and automate policy assignment to existing and new VMs based on specific tags being assigned to them as part of the VMs/Apps creation and management process.

Increased Granularity and Flexibility of Data Recovery

In addition to having the ability to recover files, folders, and VMs, now users can recover individual vDisks and also choose the exact target to recover the data from. This applies not just for backups, but also for copies and archives.

New Alerting and Notifications for Issues that Need Immediate Attention

In addition to HYCU’s 24x7 proactive operational monitoring of the service, HYCU now provides the ability to deliver customized notifications to you in your place of choice, be it Slack or Microsoft Teams with the help of HYCU’s webhooks. This enables applications within your datacenter’s ecosystem (such as ITSM and messaging solutions) to receive real-time information on your Azure’s data protection.

While these are a few highlights, you can find additional information on HYCU Data Protection as a Service for Azure in our latest release notes. If you’d like to take the solution for a 14-day free ride, you can subscribe for it at Azure Marketplace. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach us at info@hycu.com
