Thank you for placing your trust in HYCU. Follow these simple steps to get started effortlessly.

Step 1

Add your teammates to HYCU R-Cloud™

  2. Navigate to IAM from the left panel
  3. On the IAM page, click on New User on the top right of the screen
  4. In the popup window, enter the user’s email and the role you want to assign them. HYCU has four roles you can chose from. You can choose just one, multiple roles, or all of them. The available roles are:
    • Administrator
    • Backup Operator
    • Restore Operator
    • Viewer
  5. You can also choose the scope of the user. You can select from:
    • Assign to subscription – To provide subscription-level access
    • Assign to protection set – To provide access to a particular protection set only
Step 2

Configure your application

Let’s look at how you can configure your SaaS application on HYCU R-Cloud™. We’ll be configuring “Microsoft Entra ID” in this example. Follow the below steps:

  1. Change the view from the subscription-level view to a protection set. If you have not added a protection set yet, you can select “default-protection-set”
  2. Navigate to Marketplace from the left panel
  3. You can click on one of the categories on top or use the search and filter options to find the application you’re looking for
  4. Once you have found the application, click on the Show More button to view the details
  5. In the description section, at the bottom, you can find a link to the Module Guide to view the complete configuration guide, including creating API keys with the right permissions, for the application you’re configuring
  6. Once you’re ready to configure the application, you can click on the Configure button
  7. Enter the required details to configure your application. Note: The details required can be different for each application. Please refer to the module guide to get detailed instructions for the particular application.
Step 3

Add your own target

With HYCU, you can add your own cloud storage target, or you can use a storage that HYCU automatically provisions for you. Most of our customers configure their own storage to fit their data residency requirements, enhanced compliance, and tighter security of data under their control.

You can add your storage target in a few steps:

  1. Navigate to Targets from the left panel
  2. Click on Add on the top right of the screen
  3. You can choose from the following options:
    • Amazon S3
    • Azure
    • Google Cloud
    • A different S3 compatible bucket like Wasabi or OVHcloud
  4. Once you select the preferred storage provider, click Next
  5. On the next screen, depending on which provider you chose, enter the required details specific to that provider
Step 4

Configure a backup policy

Policies on HYCU R-Cloud™ automate your entire backup process, eliminating any manual intervention. You can choose from the list of the in-built policies HYCU provides or create a new policy as per your requirements. Follow the below steps to do so:

  1. Assign an in-built policy
    • To assign a policy, navigate to the SaaS page from the left panel
    • Click on the application you want to assign the policy to
    • Click on the Set Policy option on the top right of the screen
    • In the popup window, you can see the list of policies available – in-built policies and the custom policies created by you
    • Select the policy you want to assign and click the Assign button
    • You can also use the same steps to unassign a policy from the application
  1. Create a new policy
    • Navigate to the Policies page from the left panel
    • Here you can view the entire list of polices available
    • Click on the New button on the top right of the screen
    • In the popup window you can configure the following:
      • Backup frequency of your primary backup
      • Retention of your primary backup
      • Backup target type – Snapshot or Target
      • If you select snapshot, you can select one of the two snapshot location options
      • If you select target, you can choose the storage target for your backups – either an automatically provisioned storage or your custom storage
      • Copies of your backups with the retention and target storage
      • Archives of your backups where you can select one of the archive options you have configured (refer to the support documentation for steps on how to configure archive options)
      • Backup window that you have configured (refer to the support documentation for steps on how to configure backup windows)
Step 5
